Review: Annabelle Volume Lip Gloss in Sweet Tweet

Over the past few weeks, Annabelle's Volume Lip (lip pumping gloss) has found a home in my purse.  In other words, it's been a go-to gloss that I can rely on to match any look or outfit at any time!  The shade I've been sporting is Sweet Tweet, but it comes in 5 other shades:

Sweet Tweet is a sheer pink with a pearly finish.  I find it pales out my lips, which I tend to like over deeply pigmented glosses.  It's got a smooth texture that leaves a glossy feel (with a small hint of sticky-ness) for at least an hour or two.  Given that it's supposed to be a lip plumper there is no tingle or burn upon application, which makes me question if it really does plump the lips.  I personally did not see a difference, but I think the fact that it's a luminous finish (rather than high shine) helps to create the appearance of a more pouty lip...and I'll take that any day!

This gloss has a built-in applicator - you've got to squeeze the product out of the slim tube, which is probably my least favourite thing about this gloss.  I find the tube to be fairly stiff making it hard to push the product and keep it out for application. Sometimes I have to use two hands to apply...which makes me wonder how I'll get the product out when I reach the end of the tube?
Also, the tube doesn't  indicate the name of the shade anywhere on it...but once you've got it the name is not that important anyway - right?  I have heard that Annabelle is working on new packaging, so hopefully it will be available in more a more application-friendly tube soon!

Overall (aside from the packaging) I am quite pleased with this gloss.  It retails for approximately $8.50CAD and can be found as a limited edition item across Canada, but has a permanent home at Pharmaprix.

Here's the gloss in my FOTD pic for today:

On a side note - this is my day 5 hair...can you believe it?  I don't think I've ever gone this long.  It was a little stringy and frizzy at the ends so I smoothed in some Moroccan oil, brushed it out,  and finger-combed it into a side braid.  Tonight's definitely a hair-washing night but I am quite impressed that I made it to FIVE days!

I LOVE your nails! I have never done something funky like that, maybe I need to try it. Your hair looks great too, wow, I wish mine would look like that after 5 days! It's usually pretty stringy by day 3.

@Veronika - pale pinks are so pretty, and you wear them well :)

@So Very Fab - Thank you!! Lots of product and brushing out did the trick for the hair.
