I actually look scary when I wake up after going to bed with wet hair:
When I posted this pic on Instagram, one of my followers likened it to the girl from "The Grudge" - hahahaha...awesome (not awesome).
When you only have 25 minutes to fix such a problem, get ready and leave the house, what's a girl to do? Taking a quick scan of the products I had, I grabbed these and got to work:
What I used (from L to R):
Moroccan Oil has been in my life for 2 years now. I wrote a review back in August, and while I look back on that review, I wonder why I don't use it regularly as I should? It's a grease-free oil that helps repair damage and keep hair healthy and hydrated. Perhaps if I use it more often, I wont wake up looking like a horror movie villain?
Teasing Comb - this teasing comb was $3.99 at Rexall, in fact I think it even came in a pack of two :) A comb like this is an essential in my hair-care collection. I love crazy volume and can only achieve it with excessive back-combing. And I'm totally okay with that.
The zebra-print Amika Styler has also been a part of my life for two years now. If you've been reading my blog, you've seen numerous looks as a result of this styler. In my opinion, it's the ultimate curling iron/rod. Heats up super fast, and creates an unbelievable curl.
L'Oreal Volume Collagen Body Boost Root Lifting Spray (try saying that 10x fast)... This is a new purchase. I was looking for a volumizing spray to use when blow-drying my hair and decided to test this out. I'd like to try it a few more times before giving an official review, but for now I think it's worthy of it's name.
L'Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray - this is also a new purchase. I needed a new hairspray and was looking for something with strong but flexible hold. I picked up the option for colour-treated hair - considering I just re-dyed my entire head, I thought it would be a good choice. Again, I want to give it a few more days before writing an official review, but so far it does the job :)
Using these products, I basically transformed my hair in a matter of 10 minutes.
The Process:
Because I was rushed, it wasn't perfect, but at least it was presentable! And I wasn't called "the girl from The Grudge" again (at least not that I know of!).
I like to think that it doesn't have to take a lot of time and work to look good. The right tools and products will work with you, not against you!
...would you agree?

Using these products, I basically transformed my hair in a matter of 10 minutes.
The result:
The Process:
- After brushing my hair, I applied a generous portion of Moroccan Oil to my entire head. This helped reduce the frizz while providing a protective barrier for the heat that was going to be applied.
- I sprayed my roots with the L'Oreal Volumizing Spray, then flipped my hair upside down and used my fingers to shake it out from the roots - this helped to spread the product and give my roots a tiny little boost.
- I used the Amika Styler to curl two-inch pieces of hair, all around my head (wrapped each piece around the rod and held for 5-7 seconds before letting them loose).
- I used the teasing comb to back-comb my hair around the crown of my head. Then I ran my fingers through my hair to separate some of the curls - this helped keep the look more casual...it's a Sunday afterall!
- I sprayed the L'Oreal Elnett Satin hairspray all over to give it a strong (but flexible) hold.
Because I was rushed, it wasn't perfect, but at least it was presentable! And I wasn't called "the girl from The Grudge" again (at least not that I know of!).
