Oh my gawd you guys I am alive! Wow. I haven't written in almost three months. Today I decided it's time to get back into the swing of things - I am finally getting to a product review that I've been meaning to write since the beginning of January. I am so glad to be writing this and hope that I can bring you more awesome posts in the coming days - I have TONS of products and beauty news piling up so please stay tuned!
Most recently, I was sent AG Hair's Frizzproof Anti-Humidity Hair Spray from the Smooth line. Now I have to admit, I haven't paid much attention to AG Hair Cosmetics in the past - I had seen the bottles in salons but with all the variety we have these days it was just another line of products on a shelf.
When I read that AG Hair is a Canadian company whose products are sulphate and paraben free, and who doesn't test on animals, my ears perked up. Paying more attention to what is in my products lately has made me slightly picky about what I choose to use and write about. I am glad that AG Hair is something I can feel safer using.
[As per the press release] Officially released to consumers on January 1st, this Frizzproof spray is an argan-infused aerosol that promises to all-day protection against the elements. As a finishing spray it conquers humidity to keep hair in place all day.
So does this spray really deliver? I have been using Frizzproof for well over 6 weeks now and I've got to say...I actually love it.
Hairspray is often a hit or miss for me. Given that my hair is relatively fine (in texture), it's hard for me to find a spray with strong hold that doesn't weigh my hair down or leave it greasy or oily. Since I recently cut bangs, it's especially important that the spray that I use keeps my bangs full and vibrant as opposed to hard and "piece-y" (if you will). I'm happy to report that Frizzproof is one of the lightest sprays I have ever used. It leaves my hair feeling and looking smooth while providing a that tiny bit of texture we all need in order for a style to hold. I love that I just need to spray once in the morning and my hair will generally keep shape and form all day. Also, I am able to go 3-4 days without washing my hair, using this spray every day - no build-up and no heaviness.
As far as the anti-humidity part goes, in a Canadian winter it's a little hard to test that right now. I can definitely say that my hair is no where close to frizzy, but I am not sure if that is impacted by the weather as well. I'll have to test Frizzproof out in the summer to really report on the anti-humidity factor.
Retailing at $24 CDN, this is on the pricier side of what I normally spend on a hairspray, but I noticed that the bottle has lasted me much longer than a typical spray. I find that when you have a higher quality product, you don't need as much to get the full benefits. In this case, the "less is more" philosophy reigns true, so I am okay with the pricing.
Overall, I am very pleased with AG Hair's Frizzproof Anti-Humidity Hair Spray - though I couldn't really test the anti-humidity part, the other factors of the spray are impressive enough for me to want more. Perhaps this indicates a conversion? I'll let you know ;)
Hope you are all fabulous!
